Virtual History Day
On Saturday September 26th 2020, TASRLS is taking part in the Virtual History Day organised by Leamington History Group (LHG). LHG is dedicated to collecting and preserving the history of Leamington Spa and neighbouring districts. They hold meetings, conduct guided walks around Leamington and publish books on various aspects of local history.
They also hold an annual History Fair, usually at the Parish Church, where groups involved in any aspect of local history can have a stand. We thought that this was an ideal opportunity to showcase the work of our Heritage Volunteers as well as our Trails of Discovery.
Unfortunately, like so many events this year, this cannot now take place in its usual format. However, not to be defeated, the LHG is instead holding it online! There will be videos, including our own, on various aspects of local history, which will be available throughout the day and the following week (not just at the times specified on the LHG website).
Although the TASRLS video includes a summary of all our activities, the focus is on Heritage Volunteering and Trails of Discovery, so if these areas are less familiar to you this is an ideal opportunity to find out more!

Unfortunately, this event, planned for Tuesday 16th June 2020, has been cancelled due to the coronavirus situation.
Leamington Music Concert: Coventry and Warwickshire Youth Orchestra
The Arts Society uses some of its Gift Aid from subscriptions to support other Arts events.
The first concert we sponsored in 2020 was the Coventry and Warwickshire Youth Orchestra Spring Concert. This took place on Sunday 15th March at All Saints Church, Priory Terrace, Leamington Spa CV31 1AA.
In 2019, we sponsored three concerts.
The first, in January 2019, was the famous Carducci Quartet. The programme was very varied covering Mozart, Glass and Shostakovich.
The second, in February 2019, was the Coventry and Warwickshire Youth Orchestra. The programme included the Saint-Saens Cello Concerto and Dvorak’s Symphony No. 5.
In October 2019, we sponsored a concert by Curzon Brass.
