Welcome to The Arts Society Royal Leamington Spa

With inspiring monthly lectures given by top experts in their field, together with special interest days, day visits and cultural holidays both at home and abroad, joining The Arts Society is a great way to be entertained, to learn, have fun and make new and lasting friendships.

Members are very welcome to bring guests to a lecture and for full details, just scroll down, and click the ‘join us’ section.

You might also like to volunteer to help conserve and preserve our artistic heritage. We offer opportunities to learn new skills, meet people with similar interests and support the arts within our local community. We also support a number of local and regional artistic projects and activities.

Next Lecture

Our next lecture is on Wednesday the 6th July at the Spa Centre, at 11.15, and is preceded by our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at 10.30. There is no afternoon lecture. The lecture is on The History of Magic Through Art and Pictures, and it will be a whistle stop tour of the history of magic in art from 3000 BC to the present day. Our lecturer, Bertie Pearce, is both an acclaimed lecturer, and a member of the Inner Magic Circle, and his previous visits to us have been very popular.

Arts Society members from 17 local societies from across the West Midlands, including Royal Leamington Spa, were asked to suggest objects and places they love but which visitors to the area might miss, for inclusion in this new regional guide.

Included from the Warwick / Leamington area are Guy’s Cliffe Walled Garden, Hill Close Gardens and the Sheldon Tapestry in Market Hall Museum in Warwick, the Czechoslovak Freedom Fountain in Jephson Gardens, Leamington Spa and Chesterton Windmill.
