Welcome to The Arts Society Royal Leamington Spa
With inspiring monthly lectures given by top experts in their field, together with special interest days, day visits and cultural holidays both at home and abroad, joining The Arts Society is a great way to be entertained, to learn, have fun and make new and lasting friendships.
You might also like to volunteer to help conserve and preserve our artistic heritage. We offer opportunities to learn new skills, meet people with similar interests and support the arts within our local community. We also support a number of local and regional artistic projects and activities.
Our next monthly lecture will be “Catherine de Medici: the Story of Three in a Marriage” on Wednesday 3rd November 2021. Click here for more details.
On Friday 8th October, we were pleased to sponsor the award winning cartoonist Harry Venning, creator of the hilarious Guardian & Radio 4 series Clare in the Community, at Warwick Words History Festival, when he presented a History of the Cartoon as well as drawing live! Fifty Treasures of the West Midlands, a collection of less well known artistic objects and places across the area, has just been published by the Arts Society. Arts Society members from 17 local societies from across the West Midlands, including Royal Leamington Spa, were asked to suggest objects and places they love but which visitors to the area might miss, for inclusion in this new regional guide.
Included from the Warwick / Leamington area are Guy’s Cliffe Walled Garden, Hill Close Gardens and the Sheldon Tapestry in Market Hall Museum in Warwick, the Czechoslovak Freedom Fountain in Jephson Gardens, Leamington Spa and Chesterton Windmill.
The following online lectures are also available to members of The Arts Society:
